The president of the PSDB party in São Paulo resigned due to disagreements related to the party's support for Nunes' reelection.

A meeting held in December between Paulo Serra, president of the PSDB's state directorate, and the mayor of São Paulo, Ricardo Nunes, is said to have motivated Orlando Faria's departure.

247 - The president of the PSDB's municipal board in São Paulo, Orlando Faria, resigned from his position amidst discontent with internal movements seeking the party's support for the reelection of Mayor Ricardo Nunes (MDB), a management he disapproves of. Faria, an ally of the governor of Rio Grande do Sul, Eduardo Leite, had assumed leadership of the PSDB in São Paulo in October of last year. "The party should convene a convention to decide on the new president in the capital," the column highlights. Dashboard, from Folha de S. Paulo.

According to the report, Faria's departure was justified by personal reasons, but sources linked to the PSDB party reportedly said that the final straw for the politician was a meeting held on December 19 between Paulo Serra, mayor of Santo André (SP) and president of the PSDB's state directorate, and Ricardo Nunes.

The discomfort of Faria and the national leadership of the party stemmed from the lack of notice and invitation to the meeting. The discovery came through the public agenda of the mayor from the MDB party, intensifying internal tensions in the PSDB. On Wednesday (17), federal deputy Aécio Neves (MG) met with members of the PSDB in São Paulo to discuss launching a candidate of their own for the PSDB.

To resolve the disagreements, the national president of the PSDB, Marconi Perillo, scheduled a state convention for February 18th. At this event, the wing critical of Leite hopes to define who will assume leadership of the party in São Paulo.
