247 - Jair Bolsonaro (PL) was in São João de Meriti, in the interior of Rio de Janeiro, this Thursday, the 27th, leading a motorcade. The city's mayor, João Ferreira Neto (PL), known as Doctor João, declared a public holiday for public servants. In other words, he gave employees time off on the day of the event.

The claim was that the decision was due to “maintenance at the power substation” that would have left the building without internet access, according to the newspaper. Extra"The building will undergo maintenance on the power substation and will be without internet access and access to the case management system, in addition to instability in the power supply. Therefore, the decree declaring a day off is issued, since Friday the 28th, Public Servant's Day, is also a holiday," the statement said.

However, the mayor is an open Bolsonaro supporter and called for the rally on social media. "I invite the entire population of São João de Meriti to gather at Praça da Matriz starting at 11 a.m. so we can hold a grand and beautiful welcome for our President Bolsonaro 22," the mayor stated.

The optional holiday releases employees from all public offices from their duties on the day of the rally, except for those involved in essential services, "urgent and/or emergency services that, if interrupted or not provided, could cause harm to the health and/or safety of the citizens."

According to another report from ExtraAt the final stop of this Thursday's motorcade, a gas station offered free fuel to Bolsonaro supporters. Drivers who participated in a sticker campaign received a free refueling of their natural gas-powered vehicles at the Galop gas station, which would be subsidized by business owners supporting the president.

In the first round, Bolsonaro won the city with 54,3% of the valid votes. Former President Lula (Workers' Party) received 38,93%.
