Building catches fire on Paulista Avenue; fire is under control.

Ten fire department vehicles were dispatched to the scene, and traffic in both directions was congested.

247 - A building located on Avenida Paulista caught fire on Thursday afternoon (24). The building is located next to the headquarters of the Federation of Industries of the State of São Paulo (Fiesp). Black smoke was seen coming from the top of the building (video below).

According to G1, ten fire department vehicles were dispatched to the scene, and traffic was backed up in both directions. SPTrans reported that 17 bus routes were diverted due to the fire.

According to the report, the Military Police received the call around 13:20 pm after flames took over the top floor of the building. 

"It's a commercial building. We have information about the fire on the upper floors. There are no victims. We are removing people, evacuating the building quickly so that no one is affected. We are fighting the fire so that it doesn't spread to other floors," said the Fire Department spokesperson, Marcos Palumbo.

The Fire Department reported that the incident occurred in the machine and air conditioning room, located on the top floor of the corporate building, and has already been brought under control. Major Marcos Palumbo said there are no victims.
