247 - The Rio de Janeiro City Hall will suspend childhood vaccinations starting this Tuesday, the 1st. According to the Municipal Health Department, there is a shortage of doses in the city to meet the demand for immunizing children against Covid-19. Rio is awaiting a new shipment of vaccines from the Ministry of Health.

Vaccination continues as follows: 1st dose for children with disabilities and/or comorbidities between 5 and 11 years old; 2nd dose according to the date on the vaccination certificate; booster dose for people aged 18 or older who received the second dose at least four months ago; second booster dose for people aged 18 or older who are immunosuppressed and received three doses in the primary schedule, it was reported. G1.

This is the second time that Rio has interrupted childhood vaccinations. The municipality, after six days, resumed vaccinations on the 24th, exactly 7 days ago, when a shipment of CoronaVac vaccines arrived.
