Police recover watch worth R$1 million stolen from Lula's doctor.
According to investigators, the jewel was found in a house in the municipality of Taboão da Serra, in the metropolitan region of São Paulo.
247 - The Civil Police of the state of São Paulo said they recovered this Thursday (4) the luxury watch valued at R$ 1 million, taken last month in a robbery from cardiologist Roberto Kalil, doctor of President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT). According to the State Department of Criminal Investigations (Deic), the jewel was in a house on Botucatu street, in the Arraial Paulista neighborhood, in Taboão da Serra (SP). The suspect was arrested this Wednesday (3).
According to the Folha de S.Paulo newspaperThe 2nd Precinct of the Patrimony Division (Investigations into Crimes of Strategic Intervention) reported that the arrested man is Carlos Henrique Santana, nicknamed Catota. "The team's investigations allowed them to identify the property in Taboão da Serra where the item was located. The operation took place after obtaining a search and seizure warrant," said the DEIC (Department of Criminal Investigations), in a statement.
Doctor Kalil was in the garage of his office when a gun was pointed at him on December 12th. According to police, the assailant took the doctor's wristwatch. There was no physical violence during the incident.
