247 - Police arrested this Wednesday (25) in the municipality of Varginha (MG) the man who took the replica of the 1988 Federal Constitution to the coup acts on January 8, when supporters of Jair Bolsonaro (PL) invaded the Planalto Palace, the Congress and the Supreme Federal Court (STF). The pro-Bolsonaro designer Marcelo Fernandes Lima, 50, handed over the replica to the Federal Police (PF) on January 12, four days after the attacks in Praça dos Três Poderes, in the federal capital. He was released the day after giving his statement.
The Federal Police said that the Bolsonaro supporter turned himself in with a lawyer early Wednesday afternoon. He had an outstanding arrest warrant following a ruling by the Supreme Federal Court. According to the agency, the arrest warrant was issued after the delivery of a replica of the Constitution. Agents searched for him at his residence, but he was not found.
The Bolsonaro supporter was taken to a penitentiary in the region and will remain at the disposal of the Supreme Federal Court.
