Police officer suspected of rape may have had more victims.

Anonymous tips indicate that Corporal Frank Cimar Barbosa de Oliveira is the perpetrator of other crimes; he escaped through the front door of a police station in the western zone after being caught in the act of rape last Sunday; police issued an alert to prevent his escape from the state of Rio.

247 - Military police officer Frank Cimar Barbosa Frank Cimar Barbosa de Oliveira Souza is suspected of raping more than 20 women in Campo Grande, in the west zone of Rio de Janeiro. He was arrested after raping a young woman in the same neighborhood on the night of last Sunday (8), but escaped through the front door of the 35th Police Station in Campo Grande. The corporal has been on the run for almost a week and the Justice Department has ordered his arrest. Since the day of the crime, the Crime Stoppers hotline has received more than 20 calls about the case.

According to the Civil Police, Frank Cimar works at the 17th BPM (Ilha do Governador) and will be charged with kidnapping, rape, threatening the victim and other witnesses.

After the escape, the Federal Highway Police (PRF) set up a road blockade to prevent the suspect from fleeing the city; Infraero was also alerted to a possible escape route through the two airports in Rio.

According to the Federal Highway Police (PRF), the alert applies to all posts in the state. In addition to inspecting cars, motorcycles, and cargo vehicles, agents will also inspect intercity and interstate buses.

Last Tuesday (17), a civil police officer was arrested with a weapon registered in the name of the corporal. According to the police, the 12-gauge shotgun was in the agent's car, taken to the 35th DP (Campo Grande), where he was charged with illegal possession of a weapon and released afterwards. The Civil Police informed that the inspector was removed from his position to a function in the Personnel Sector of Diverse Services.
