Police kill drug trafficker, one of Rio's most wanted.
Josiel Gomes de Souza, known as Toulon, was shot by the Military Police during an exchange of gunfire late Saturday night (25); the drug trafficker and two accomplices – one of whom also died – were in an Astra that broke through a police checkpoint and ended up crashing into a pole after a chase; he was trying to regain control of drug sales in the Para-Pedro favela.

The Rio Military Police killed, during an exchange of fire, late last night (25), one of the most wanted drug traffickers in the capital of Rio de Janeiro. Josiel Gomes de Souza, Toulon, was trying to regain control of drug sales in the Para-Pedro favela, in Colégio, north of the city, and was killed during a police chase on Estrada do Quitungo, in Brás de Pina. He was with two accomplices. One of them, not yet identified, also died.
The other is Bruno Eduardo da Silva Procópio, 33, known as Piná, from the Penha favela complex. The anonymous tip line was offering R$ 5 for information leading to his arrest. He was injured and is currently under arrest at the Getúlio Vargas State Hospital in Penha.
According to the commander of the Military Police battalion in Irajá, the drug trafficker Toulon and his accomplices were in an Astra that ran through a police checkpoint and ended up crashing into a lamppost. A chase ensued, and the police car also collided with the criminals' car. In the exchange of gunfire, Toulon and one accomplice died, and the other was wounded.
