Federal Police - On the evening of Thursday, January 18th, the Federal Police carried out an operation aimed at combating the illegal practice of private security activities, among other irregularities, at a large-scale event in Cabo Frio/RJ.

During the operation, the documentation of all security guards working at the location was checked, and it was found that some of them had expired training courses and others lacked the extension course for large events, which is essential for parties of this size.

Due to the irregularities found, officers from the Federal Police Station in Macaé issued a notice to terminate the security activities of one of the companies responsible for the event.

Private security activity is regulated by law and must be previously authorized by the Federal Police, not only in cases of armed security services, but also for unarmed security guards, all of whom must be trained through a specific training course, with refresher courses every two years.

The practice of employing unlicensed security guards, without proper training, compromises the safety of the premises and also puts the lives and physical integrity of citizens at risk.

Complaints about irregularities or clandestine activities in private security can be made to DELESP/DREX/SR/PF/RJ by email: delesp.drex.srrj@pf.gov.br or by phone (21 2203-4880).

Failure to comply with the Business Closure Order may result in criminal charges for those involved.
