247 - The Federal Police and the Public Prosecutor's Office of the State of Rio de Janeiro (GAECO/MPRJ) arrested, this Wednesday (28), the owner of the junkyard that received, dismantled and disposed of the vehicle used by the murderers to commit the double homicide that killed the councilwoman and her driver and the attempted homicide against the parliamentarian's advisor, which occurred in 2018.

The man – who had already been indicted by the Public Prosecutor's Office in August 2023 – was arrested near his home in the Santa Cruz da Serra neighborhood, in the municipality of Duque de Caxias/RJ. The arrest warrant was issued by the 3rd Criminal Chamber of the Capital.

The complaint alleged that the accused impeded and obstructed investigations into criminal offenses involving a criminal organization, causing serious harm to the administration of justice and, consequently, to the pursuit of resolving the cases.

The detainee was taken to the Regional Superintendence of the Federal Police, in Praça Mauá, for the formalities arising from the judicial arrest and will be transferred to the prison system, where he will remain at the disposal of the justice system.
