RJ24Hours - Residents of the Preventório community, in Charitas, Niterói, experienced moments of panic on Thursday morning (14), during the BOPE operation in the region. According to witnesses, the police arrived around 7 am, in several cars and with an armored vehicle, went up the hill heavily armed and businesses were ordered to close their doors. There were gunshots. Students were unable to go to school.

The action would be a repression of the demonstration, which took place yesterday afternoon (13), on Avenida Quintino Bocaiúva, in protest against the seizure of 13 motorcycles carried out by police officers from the 79th DPº (Jurujuba) at the beginning of this week. The motorcycles would belong to mototaxi drivers who transport the population of the community.

According to the police, the seized vehicles have proper documentation and the owners are licensed to drive, but they do not have authorization to carry out the activity.
