Rio 247 - Federal deputy Chico Alencar (Psol-RJ) demanded answers from authorities about the assassination of former Rio councilwoman Marielle Franco (Psol) and her driver, Anderson Gomes, in March, in the center of the capital of Rio de Janeiro. "There is no sporting victory that will make us forget: who killed and ordered the killing of Marielle and Anderson?", questioned the parliamentarian. When speaking of victory, the congressman referred to Brazil's game, which won 2-0 against Costa Rica this Friday (22) in the World Cup in Russia.
"The execution of Marielle and Anderson cannot go unanswered, with the omission of the interests of a State that marginalizes millions of young people from the peripheries, like Marielle, and kills many of them every day, mainly black men and women. Urgent answers are needed!", he added.
According to the congressman, "the head of the Rio Civil Police, Rivaldo Barbosa, and his team have not yet responded to any of the requests for information and official letters sent by the External Commission that is monitoring the investigations into the brutal assassination of Marielle Franco and Anderson Gomes."
"Marielle Franco's experience in office, reflected in her work as president of the Women's Defense Commission, was an example of the feminism we want and are capable of practicing, building upon the collective political partnership we forged. Let us continue her legacy," she added. "They tried to destroy the project of a less unequal society with more visibility for women, Black people, LGBT people, and favela residents. But Marielle's voice is now with all of us!"
