The Public Prosecutor's Office and the technical staff of the Court of Auditors recommend rejecting Witzel's accounts.

Witzel allocated only 10,53% of tax revenue and transfers to healthcare in the state of Rio. The local government failed to allocate R$ 608 million in 2019, as the law mandates that at least 12% be sent.

247 - The special session to review Wilson Witzel's accounts for the year 2019 will be held by the Court of Auditors of the State of Rio de Janeiro (TCE-RJ) at 14:30 pm this Monday (1). The TCE's instructing body suggested in the first examination of the records the issuance of a preliminary opinion against the approval of the accounts due to 10 irregularities. The information is from the newspaper The Globe.

In 2019, the Rio de Janeiro state government failed to meet the minimum spending requirement for public health services. The law stipulates that 12% of tax revenue and transfers should be allocated to health in the state. In 2019, Governor Witzel allocated only 10,53% of revenue, falling short by R$ 608 million.

The Public Prosecutor's Office for Accounts (MPC) will also recommend the disapproval of the accounts due to five of the ten irregularities raised by the TCE's investigative body.
