App driver kills young man in hit-and-run and mocks him on social media: 'one less making the L' sign.'
The crime occurred in the central region of São Paulo.
247 - Uber driver Christopher Rodrigues ran over and killed a 21-year-old man in downtown São Paulo and made several posts on social media mocking the victim. "One less making the 'L' sign," Rodrigues said, referring to supporters of President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva.
The perpetrator of the murder told the police that he drove his car over Matheus Campos da Silva after witnessing the victim taking another driver's cell phone at around 17:30 pm last Tuesday (25), according to the Folha de S. Paul.
After hitting Matheus da Silva, Rodrigues did not provide assistance, but instead went to his social media to record and comment on the case. In the images, it is possible to see Silva's body under the car. One of the recordings shows Rodrigues mocking the young man's death. "Lucifer Morningstar [representation of Satan in DC Comics] has gained another member of the team," he says. "Now I'm going to the police station to sign a murder report. Just kidding. God is greater," he continues.
In another video, the man is seen saying that this time there would be no beer or steak for the young man who was run over, in yet another reference to Lula. Finally, the driver posted a photo celebrating that his act was not even registered as manslaughter, which is homicide without intent to kill.
