Subway workers accept São Paulo government's proposal and decide to end the strike.

247 - São Paulo subway workers approved, this Friday (23), the proposal made by the São Paulo government and will end the strike after two days of stoppage. According to the G1The employees will return to their jobs, but there is no estimate of when operations will be fully normalized. 

According to the report, the offer made by the government was met with harsh criticism from the unions. Despite this, the understanding was that the strike would be ended to prevent the stoppage from extending into the weekend. 

"Although the offer is bad, it's very little, we think it's important to accept this offer and end the strike on a high note. Because there are no conditions for us to continue the strike over the weekend," said Camila Lisboa, president of the Metro Workers Union, according to the report.

In the proposal, the government committed to paying a salary bonus of R$ 2 in April, in addition to establishing the 2023 Profit Sharing Program, which will be paid in 2024. It was also agreed that employees will not be penalized and that days off will not be deducted from their paychecks.
