Measures taken by Doria and Covas to combat Covid-19 are approved by 28% of São Paulo residents, compared to 26% for Bolsonaro.

The approval rating for the actions of Governor João Doria and the mayor of the capital, Bruno Covas, both from the PSDB party, in combating the pandemic was 68%, while the disapproval ratings were 21% and 20%, respectively.

247 - An Ibope survey released this Tuesday (5) indicates that 68% of São Paulo residents approve of the measures adopted by the governor of São Paulo and the mayor of the capital, João Doria (PSDB) and Bruno Covas (PSDB), respectively, to combat the new coronavirus pandemic. Meanwhile, the measures adopted by the Jair Bolsonaro government are approved by only 26% of the state's population. 

Governor João Doria and Mayor Bruno Covas had a 68% approval rating for their handling of the pandemic, while disapproval rates were 21% and 20%, respectively. Another 10% declined to comment on the actions taken by the two leaders. 

According to the research "Living in São Paulo - Pandemic Special," conducted by the Nossa São Paulo Network with the support of Ibope Inteligência, 71% of São Paulo residents said they supported the measures adopted by former Health Minister Henrique Mandetta, who was dismissed by Bolsonaro the day before the start of the research. 

The survey also indicated that 1% of São Paulo residents said they were not concerned about the effects of the pandemic. Meanwhile, 49% expressed concern about the economy and 36% about the increase in social inequality. 

The online survey was conducted with 800 people aged 16 and over between April 17 and 26, from socioeconomic classes A, B, and C.
