More than 30% have already been infected with Covid-19 in a neighborhood in the eastern zone of São Paulo.

Approximately 29% of 3.593 rapid Covid-19 tests were positive in the União Vila Nova neighborhood, located in the Jacuí district, according to the State Housing Secretariat. Another 5% were infected but have already recovered.

247 - In a testing operation for the new coronavirus in the eastern zone of São Paulo, almost 30% of 3.593 rapid Covid-19 tests came back positive in the União Vila Nova neighborhood, located in the Jacuí district, according to the State Housing Secretariat. According to Folha de S. Paulo, the rapid tests took place between Tuesday and Wednesday (15).

The Executive Secretary of Housing, Fernando Marangoni, states that 5% of people had Covid-19 but have already recovered, 29% are currently infected, 63% tested negative, and 3% had inconclusive results. Therefore, the percentage of people who have already been infected in the neighborhood varies between 34% and 37% (due to inconclusive results).

The report states that next week, the São Paulo state government plans to conduct the same type of testing in Brasilândia (northern zone) and Santo André (ABC region).
