247 - Former governor of São Paulo Márcio França (PT) stated this Monday (21) to Andréia Sadi, from G1It will be up to former president Lula (PT) to decide which candidate the two parties will field for the São Paulo state government.

"It will be Lula who decides whether it will be me or Fernando Haddad. He is pragmatic, he knows what is best, and he will have the final say," he said.

Amid negotiations between the PT and PSB parties to form a Federation, the São Paulo scenario has been an obstacle, since the PT members support the candidacy of the former minister. Fernando Haddad (PT), leading in the polls....and the PSB insists on França's name. The former governor's statement points to a resolution of the impasse and gives the Federation some breathing room.

There is an expectation that Lula will meet with França for a conversation sometime this week.

According to França, no decision will be made official until the end of the party switching window, which closes in early April. He argues that until then, PT and PSB leaders should "tour the country" to "demonstrate the strength of democrats versus anti-democrats."

"Until April, I think any important decision will be difficult. We need to be discussing things externally, demonstrating strength externally—not internally, on minor internal issues. Meanwhile, Bolsonaro-aligned candidates, like Tarcísio Freitas, are making moves," he analyzed.
