Power Agenda - Governor Cláudio Castro (PL) and deputy Marcelo Freixo (PSB) appear in a technical tie in voting intentions for the government of Rio de Janeiro, according to a Real Time Big Data survey commissioned by Record TV and released this Tuesday (15).

The survey has a margin of error of plus or minus three percentage points. The difference between the two is one percentage point, with Freixo leading but still lagging behind in the proportion of blank or spoiled ballots. Voters were asked who they would vote for as state governor. When presented with the list of options, 30% said they would vote blank or spoiled, 24% would choose Marcelo Freixo, and 23% would choose Cláudio Castro.

According to the survey, Rodrigo Neves (PDT) comes next with 10%, André Ceciliano (PT) with 2%, and Felipe Santa Cruz (PSD) also with 2%. Those who don't know or didn't respond represent 8%. Paulo Ganime (Novo) appears with 1%.

The technical tie was reached this March. In the historical survey, in September 2021, the difference was seven percentage points, with Freixo at 25% and Castro at 18%. Rodrigo Neves rose one point in the period, going from 9% to 10%.

In a second scenario, without André Ceciliano and Felipe Santa Cruz, pre-candidates Freixo and Castro both have 25% of voting intentions, followed by Rodrigo Neves with 11%. Ganime follows with 1% in this segment. When asked who voters would not vote for, 45% said they would not choose Freixo, while 39% said André Ceciliano and 33% said Cláudio Castro.

In the spontaneous survey—that is, a free-form survey, with no options given to respondents—58% said they didn't know who they would vote for governor or didn't respond. Another 23% said they wouldn't vote, while 5% said Marcelo Freixo and 4% said Cláudio Castro.

Another question in the survey was: "Would you vote for a candidate who supported the decriminalization of abortion?" Of those interviewed, 63% answered no, 25% said yes, and 12% didn't know or didn't answer. When asked if they would vote for a candidate who supported the legalization of marijuana, 49% said no and 43% said yes.

The Real Time Big Data survey was conducted with 1.500 voters in the state of Rio de Janeiro between March 12 and 15. The survey has a 95% confidence level.
