247 - The University of São Paulo (USP) has initiated disciplinary proceedings against Professor Alysson Mascaro, who has been the target of a cancellation campaign. Mascaro taught at the Faculty of Law and is one of the leading Brazilian Marxist intellectuals.

The PAD will investigate allegations of sexual harassment made anonymously by current and former students and published on a United States website. The Intercept, the portal reported G1 this Wednesday (12).

The report from the US website, based on anonymous testimonies, alleges that Mascaro harassed his students, but makes it clear that there was never any formal accusation against him at USP or Mackenzie University, where he previously taught.

Mascaro denies the accusations, and his defense claims a lack of evidence, emphasizing that the reports are anonymous and that there is a smear campaign against him.

Mascaro was removed from his position at USP after the far-right governor Tarcísio de Freitas issued a decree allowing for his precautionary removal even before any internal investigation.

O The Intercept It was founded by billionaire Pierre Omidyar, a figure notoriously connected to the American deep state and the promotion of color revolutions around the world, such as the 2016 coup against former President Dilma Rousseff.

Paradoxically, the publication presents itself to the Brazilian public as a progressive website – not an extreme right-wing one, although its practical actions, such as character assassination and cancel culture, are typical behaviors of that political segment. This ideological makeup by The Intercept fits the concept of "full spectrum dominance," where empires dominate colonized peoples by offering right-wing, extreme-right, or even supposedly "progressive" alternatives. The goal is to frame leftist thought within a logic that serves imperial interests. It is no coincidence that the main victims of cancel culture are important voices in leftist thought, as recently happened with Professor Boaventura de Sousa Santos, former Minister Silvio Almeida, and now, Professor Alysson Mascaro.
