Former state deputy Paulo Melo (MDB), businessman Mário Peixoto, and two other people were arrested on suspicion of fraud in purchases for coronavirus field hospitals. Peixoto, arrested in Angra dos Reis, owns companies that have entered into numerous contracts with state governments – from the administration of Sérgio Cabral to the administration of Wilson Witzel.
247 - In another stage of Operation Lava Jato in Rio de Janeiro, the Federal Police arrested, on the morning of this Thursday (14), former state deputy Paulo Melo, businessman Mário Peixoto and two other people.
Peixoto, arrested in Angra dos Reis, owns companies that have entered into numerous contracts with the state government – since the administration of Sérgio Cabral – and the federal government.
Investigations have pointed to evidence of fraud in purchases for the coronavirus field hospitals.
According to the Federal Police, the group paid undue advantages to members of the Court of Auditors of the State of Rio de Janeiro (TCE-RJ), state deputies, and other public officials.
