Rio 247 - The Court of Justice of the State of Rio de Janeiro received late Thursday afternoon (14) the communication from the Supreme Federal Court (STF) extending the injunction granted to the British Raymond Whelan, in the habeas corpus (HC), to ten accused of being part of a scheme to sell tickets irregularly for the 2014 World Cup, including the Franco-Algerian Mohamadou Lamine Fofana. The injunction was granted by Minister Marco Aurélio, of the STF, on August 8.

In addition to Fofana, the following individuals benefited from the measure: Marcelo Pavão da Costa Carvalho, Alexandre da Silva Borges, Antônio Henrique de Paula Jorge, Sérgio Antônio de Lima, Júlio Soares da Costa Filho, Fernanda Carrione Paulucci, Ernani Alves da Rocha Junior, Alexandre Marino Vieira, and Ozeas do Nascimento.

Marcelo Pavão left the prison on Thursday night. The others are expected to leave Gericinó this Friday (15).

In the decision, the minister adopted the same grounds as the injunction granted to Whelan, emphasizing that the act that ordered the arrest of the suspects did not point to any concrete fact compatible with the provision of article 312 of the Code of Criminal Procedure (guarantee of public or economic order, for the convenience of the criminal investigation or to ensure the application of criminal law).

All defendants, however, were warned "of the need to remain within the jurisdiction, responding to court summons and adopting the conduct expected of a person integrated into society."
