Brazilian court reduces businessman Thiago Brennand's prison sentence and orders him to pay R$ 100 in damages.

The accusations also indicated that the defendant filmed the abuses and threatened to release the videos.

247 The São Paulo Court of Justice upheld the conviction of businessman Thiago Brennand for the rape of a woman, but reduced his sentence from 10 to 8 years and 2 months in prison. The crime occurred in 2016.  

The São Paulo Court of Justice also ordered the businessman to pay the victim R$100 in damages for emotional distress. He is accused of filming the abuse and threatening to release the videos. His defense stated that he will appeal. 

The defendant has been in prison since April 2023. He had previously been found guilty in other cases of violence against women.
