Rio de Janeiro court authorizes installation of CT scanner inside Universal Church in Rocinha.

A judge on duty overturned a preliminary injunction granted last Wednesday, which had prevented the installation of the equipment purchased for public use to diagnose Covid-19 in the population.

247 - A court in Rio de Janeiro has authorized Mayor Marcelo Crivella to install a CT scanner inside a Universal Church of the Kingdom of God temple in the Rocinha community. The device is used for diagnosing Covid-19.  

The new decision, by Judge Rogério de Oliveira Souza, who was on duty at the court on Friday night, according to UOL reportknocks one down preliminary injunction that had been granted last Wednesday (13) by Judge Roseli Nalin, of the 15th Public Treasury Court of Rio de Janeiro, which prevented the installation.

In the provisional ruling, the judge determined that it would not be "reasonable" to install equipment acquired by the public authorities in a "different, private location, aggravated by the fact that it is a church where the Mayor is a licensed bishop."
