247 - The Federal Court of the 3rd Region convicted philosopher and YouTuber Paulo Ghiraldelli of defamation after he called federal congresswoman Tabata Amaral (PSB-SP) a "fake and a tramp" in February 2020, during a video in which he accused the congresswoman of aligning herself with the right wing. According to the ruling, he will have to remove the excerpt from the publication containing insults against the congresswoman within 15 days, under penalty of a progressive daily fine of one thousand reais. He will also have to perform community service or work for a public entity and pay two minimum wages to it. He may appeal while free.

The philosopher's and congresswoman's statements were published this Tuesday (15) in a report by Correio Braziliense newspaper"Tabata Amaral has become the great political farce of our times," he said at the time. "I'm going to give you a direct message, Tabata. Directly. To your face. I tried to talk to you several times. Why? Because I wanted to know what your proposals were, because I campaigned for you, and you ran away. Do you know why you ran away? Because you are shameless, false, and a tramp. That's what you are," he added.

At the time, the congresswoman even posted about the matter. "When something so openly sexist is relativized because I am the target, we call that hypocrisy. To those who are saying that, for me, everything is sexism and that I don't know how to deal with criticism: there is a lot of sexism, yes, in a good part of the criticism, insults and threats I receive. That is why I will continue to denounce and fight against it with courage and conviction, whatever its origin," she declared.
