Judge orders investigation into video about alleged orgy in which Doria participated to be shelved.
In the request to dismiss the case, electoral prosecutor Luis Gabos Alves stated that there are no clues about the authorship of the video, nor any means to find the person responsible for its dissemination.
247 - Judge Emílio Migliano Neto, of the 1st Electoral Zone of São Paulo, ordered the dismissal of the investigation into the intimate video of an orgy allegedly attributed to Governor João Doria (PSDB) during the 2018 campaign.
In the request that resulted in the dismissal of the investigation, which had been open for more than three years, electoral prosecutor Luis Gabos Alves stated that there are no clues about the authorship of the video, nor any means to find the person responsible for disseminating the material. Doria denies the authenticity of the video. He claims to be the target of a smear campaign.
"Considering that after three years of investigation the perpetrator remains unknown and not seeing any other useful steps that can be taken, I hereby order the archiving of this police investigation," reads an excerpt from the official document, according to the newspaper. The State of S. Paul.
Despite the prosecution's request, an expert analysis conducted by the forensics unit of the Federal Police's São Paulo branch stated that there were no signs that the material had been tampered with.
Gabos, however, claims that there is 'evidence that the images have been altered or manipulated', but that it was not possible to identify who the author or person responsible for disseminating the images on social media might be.
