247 - A 13-year-old girl was killed by a gunshot to the back of the neck fired by a 12-year-old friend in Taubaté, in the interior of São Paulo state. According to the Civil Police, the girl was shot at home after receiving a visit from her friend, who was in the same class at school. The teenager was apprehended.
According to Folha de S. PaulThe young woman fired a single shot at the victim and returned home. After putting the pistol in a drawer, she went to school, where she was found by the police. According to investigators, the weapon has a serial number and is registered.
"She said that the girl had some problem with her, that she was provoking her and possibly stealing from a friend of hers. But the issue of stealing is friendship, not property theft, or a disagreement," said Detective Vinicius Garcia Vieira, from the Taubaté DEIC (Department of Criminal Investigations), according to the report.
