According to the São Paulo State Public Security Secretariat (SSP-SP), the police were called to respond to the incident, later registered as a homicide, at around 4 am.
The body was left on an unfinished footbridge next to the main avenue in the Vila Esperança community. The motives for the crime are still under investigation, as is the cause of death, since, although the young man had a rope around his neck, it has not been confirmed whether he died by hanging. The case was referred to the Cubatão Police Station, which contacted the State Department of Criminal Investigations in Santos to continue the investigations.
