On leave from the institution to serve her term, she expressed interest in resuming classes soon after the 2022 elections, in which she was not elected to the Senate.
According to a reporter On the Estado de Minas website, Janaina proposed teaching courses on public safety, religious conflicts, or bioethics, but these had already been assigned to other professors. She is now awaiting a response from the university regarding which class she will be able to take on.
