According to the newspaper, the lawyers Maíra Recchia, Gabriela Araujo, and Priscila Pamela dos Santos filed the representation. The GlobeThey claim that Douglas Garcia went to the debate with the intention of "inhibiting and embarrassing" a woman who was exercising her profession, "using a repugnant method that constitutes gender violence and through statements that are completely reprehensible to everyone, including party colleagues."

"The parliamentarian's actions demonstrate that he violates the average and primary honor of parliamentary decorum, since this is not the type of conduct expected of any man, especially public figures imbued with parliamentary power. The conduct of the Deputy, now represented, constitutes an unquestionable offense to the dignity of the journalist as well as to all Brazilian women," the request states.
