247 - The Brazilian ambassador to Italy, Renato Mosca, said this Friday (1st) that the case of Carla Zambelli (PL-SP) should end in the second half of this year. The licensed federal deputy was arrested last Tuesday (29) in Rome two months after fleeing Brazil, for having been sentenced to ten years in prison by the Supreme Federal Court in the investigation that investigates the invasion of electronic systems of the National Council of Justice (CNJ).

"With all the Italian authorities I speak to, there is this feeling of the need for a short process," Mosca told Estúdio i, on GloboNews.

In the interview, Mosca stated that there will be another analysis of Zambelli's case in August to assess the request for house arrest made by the parliamentarian's lawyers for health reasons.

In addition to being sentenced to ten years in prison, the Bolsonaro supporter must pay R$ 2 million in collective damages.

According to the investigations, Zambelli was the mastermind behind the hacking to obtain a false arrest warrant against Alexandre de Moraes, the rapporteur for the investigation into the coup plot, which includes Jair Bolsonaro (PL) among the 31 defendants.

The congresswoman on leave is not a defendant in the investigation of the coup plot, but, according to the investigations, the hacking into the CNJ system was a coup attempt.

The false warrant against Moraes would not be accidental. At the Supreme Court, the magistrate is the rapporteur for the inquiry into the coup plot and, in recent years, has played a prominent role in investigations against digital militias, which, in the political-partisan field, has mainly affected Bolsonaro-supporting politicians.
