Man stabs 8 people in hospital and is killed by police in São Paulo.
The man, who was disoriented according to police, was taken to the city's Santa Casa hospital, but did not survive.
247 - A man entered a hospital in the city of Américo Brasiliense, in the interior of São Paulo, on Thursday night (6), seeking medical attention. After apparently becoming nervous, he pulled out a knife and injured seven people inside the hospital and a nurse outside, who ended up being taken hostage by the aggressor.
A police team that was passing by the scene began negotiating the victim's release, and after the aggressor repeatedly threatened to hit the woman in the neck, a police officer fired a shot that killed him. The man, who was disoriented according to the police, was taken to the city's Santa Casa hospital, but did not survive.
Among the eight injured were hospital staff and patients. The case is being investigated by the Araraquara Regional Police Station and has been registered as attempted homicide and death resulting from police intervention.
