Man killed by rifle shot after delivering food basket in Rio de Janeiro; police officer admits to shooting.
A police officer says he returned fire after shots were fired by occupants of a car driving in the wrong direction, but his version of events is contradictory. The crime is being investigated by the Homicide Division and the Military Police themselves.
247 - A real estate agent was murdered with a rifle shot on April 28th in Cordovil, in the North Zone of Rio de Janeiro. The family says the crime occurred after Leandro Rodrigues da Matta went to deliver a food basket to a friend who is experiencing hardship due to the pandemic. reporter is from the G1 portal.
The Civil Police are investigating the crime. At the police station, military police officer Bruno Bahia do Espírito Santo said he shot because Leandro was allegedly a criminal. But his testimony contains contradictions.
Leandro, 40 years old, was married, a father of two young children, and lived in Mesquita, in the Baixada Fluminense region.
Just over a week ago, Ana Paula, Leandro's wife, saw her life change.
“My 2-year-old daughter keeps asking where her father is. My son doesn't sleep at night. I haven't been able to sleep all week, I'm sleeping with medication, and my son keeps asking why his good father, a good man, was killed in this way?” says Ana Paula.
Leandro, a Flamengo fan at heart, was a real estate agent who worked for a company and coordinated 250 other people.
