247 - Governor João Doria was threatened by a man via text and audio messages. According to investigations by the Civil Police, the man contacted the governor through the social media account of the first lady, Bia, and also sent audio messages. Among the messages was a demand for R$ 5 million to prevent the governor's assassination.

The governor's lawyer, Fernando José da Costa, stated that "he recorded an audio saying that a criminal faction was going to kill the governor on a specific date and that a sum of R$ 3 million had been agreed upon for this murder. And that if the governor paid R$ 5 million, he would not be killed."

Police have identified the alleged perpetrator: Hércules Cordeiro Torres. The investigation led to his name through an email address and an Instagram account, @opdoriajr.

The investigation report states that "during the course of the investigations, a request was made to Facebook, followed by a response identifying not only the IP addresses (Internet Protocol) used to create and access the account "@opdoriajr", used for the extortions, but also the email address linked to that account, namely heir@outlook.com.br. This email address proved to belong to the suspect Hércules, as will be seen in the Investigation Report as it progresses."

A report from the Folha de S. Paulo newspaper. The report further adds that “according to the document, there was an arrest and questioning of Hércules in Santa Cruz do Capibaribe (PE). According to the investigation, 'a crucial point, in addition to the 'confession' of the accused Hércules,' is the fact that his girlfriend lived next to a woman whose internet signal was used. 'It is worth remembering that the subscriber of one of the lines linked to one of the IPs used to access the account '@opdoriajr' is precisely [a neighbor's name]', says the report.”
