Helicopters from Rio de Janeiro were flying to Mangaratiba even when Cabral was abroad.

The list of helicopter flights by the Rio de Janeiro state government shows that aircraft landed and took off in Mangaratiba even when former governor Sérgio Cabral (PMDB) was traveling abroad; at least 81 flights to Cabral's beach house were made on dates when he was out of the country on official business or for leisure; in June 2009, for example, when Cabral was in China with businessman Eike Batista seeking to attract investors to the Açu port, eight flights were to Mangaratiba using official helicopters.

Rio 247 - The list of helicopter flights from the Rio de Janeiro government shows that aircraft landed and took off in Mangaratiba even when former governor Sérgio Cabral (PMDB) was traveling abroad.

According to a survey published by Folha this Saturday, there were at least 81 flights to Cabral's beach house on dates when he was out of the country on official business or for leisure. In total, almost 1.500 flights were made to the city during Cabral's administration, between 2007 and 2014.

In June 2009, when Cabral was in China alongside businessman Eike Batista seeking to attract investors to the port of Açu, eight flights were made to Mangaratiba using official helicopters.

Six flights took place at Cabral's summer home in May 2008, when the former governor had public engagements in Paris. The same occurred when he was in the United States in March 2009.

"There were times when I would stay very late at the Palace; occasionally my children and wife would go ahead, and I would go later," he stated in a hearing before the state court.
