Governor João Doria announces new quarantine in São Paulo.

According to a decree by the governor of São Paulo, João Doria (PSDB), isolation will be established between July 27 and August 10 in the state.

247 - The governor of São Paulo, João Doria (PSDB), announced this Friday (24) a new two-week quarantine for all municipalities in the state. According to the new decree, isolation will be established between July 27 and August 10. It is the eighth quarantine in the state. 

The Executive branch reported, however, that the three main indicators measuring the spread of the new coronavirus pandemic – the number of cases, the number of deaths, and the number of hospitalizations – showed a decrease of 5%, 3%, and 4%, respectively.

São Paulo is the state with the highest number of confirmed cases (452) and deaths (20,8) caused by the coronavirus in the country. 

Across the entire country, there are 2,3 million cases and 83 deaths, placing Brazil second in the global ranking for these two statistics, behind only the United States (4,1 million) and 147 deaths. 

According to the Imperial College's epidemic monitoring center, the contagion rate (Rt) above 1, which means an increased rate of infection.
