The São Paulo state government will now distribute R$ 55 to public school students living in extreme poverty.

The payment authorized by Governor João Doria is part of the "School Lunch at Home" program.

247 - The governor of São Paulo, João Doria, authorized this Wednesday (8) the payment of R$ 55 to students in the public school system living in extreme poverty, as part of the Merenda em Casa program.

723 students in the public school system will receive the aid.

Initially, the payment will be made in April and May, costing the government R$ 80 million. "If necessary, given the circumstances, we may extend it for a longer period," Doria stated.
