Garotinho: 'Rio doesn't have a government, only marketing'

After a Datafolha poll showed federal deputy Anthony Garotinho (PR-RJ) in first place in the race for governor of Rio, and Governor Sérgio Cabral (PMDB) with record disapproval ratings, the congressman attacked the PMDB member and said that Rio is "without a government"; "The state has no government, only marketing. Cabral has no education or health policy, and the UPP is an incomplete project," he declared.

Rio 247 – After a Datafolha poll showed federal deputy Anthony Garotinho (PR-RJ) in first place in the race for governor of Rio, and Governor Sérgio Cabral (PMDB) with record disapproval ratings, the congressman criticized the PMDB governor's administration and said that Rio is "without a government." The congressman leads the statistics for the state election, with 21% of voting intentions.

"The state has no government, only marketing. Cabral has no education or health policy, and the UPP (Pacifying Police Unit) is an incomplete project," declared the congressman, according to Jornal do Brasil.

According to Datafolha, the percentage of people satisfied with the PMDB politician's administration fell from 25% in June, after the avalanche of protests, to 20%. Cabral's popularity reaches 35%.

The survey indicated that in second place are the Minister of Fisheries, Marcelo Crivella (PRB), and Senator Lindberg Farias (PT), both with 15% of the electorate. In third place is councilman Cesar Maia (DEM), with 11%.

In fourth place is the vice-governor of Rio, Luiz Fernando Pezão (PMDB), with 5% of the votes, followed by federal deputy Miro Teixeira (PROS), with 3%. Volleyball coach Bernardinho (PSDB) and former deputy Milton Temer (PSOL) each have 2%.
