247 Senator Flávio Bolsonaro (PL-RJ) decided to attack Supreme Court Justice Alexandre de Moraes for ordering Jair Bolsonaro's (PL) house arrest. "A sad chapter in Brazilian history. We are officially in a dictatorship," he stated.

Without evidence, the congressman accused Moraes of acting to "unbalance the electoral process" in 2022. Bolsonaro's son said that the Supreme Court minister is seeking "personal satisfaction" and gave a "clear demonstration of revenge" because of the sanctions announced by the Donald Trump administration against the minister.

The senator reinforced his support for the US retaliations, stating that, according to him, "there is no longer a sufficient remedy to stop the violations" in Brazil. Flávio also affirmed that the former president is an "honest, upright person."

In accordance with the Trump administration's directives, any assets and financial resources belonging to Minister Alexandre de Moraes located in the United States will be immediately frozen. The directives require banks and financial institutions to report to OFAC (Office of Foreign Assets Control) the existence of accounts or investments linked to the magistrate.

Following the decision, Moraes is prohibited from carrying out any financial transactions in US institutions, including transfers, payments, or movements in bank accounts. The freeze effectively cuts off his access to funds deposited in the US, preventing him from managing or moving those resources.

The minister told associates that the measure "will not change anything" for him, because he does not own any assets, bank accounts or investments under US jurisdiction.
