The state of São Paulo will begin fining those who disregard the mandatory use of masks starting this Thursday.

A fine of R$ 524 will be applied to anyone seen without a mask in public and private spaces. Commercial establishments will pay R$ 5 for each person found on their premises without a mask.

247 - From this Thursday (2), the state of São Paulo will fine people and businesses that disregard the mandatory use of masks against the new coronavirus pandemic. The amount of the penalty can vary between R$ 524 and R$ 5. The information is from the portal G1.

The report also adds that there is a fine of R$ 1.380,50 for commercial establishments that fail to display signs instructing customers to wear masks.

The resolution does not include a fine for those in private cars. The use of masks on public transport and ride-sharing apps has been mandatory in the state since the beginning of May.
