The victim was a 63-year-old woman who had contact with her employer, who came from Italy and tested positive for Covid-19.

"Maintaining transparency and providing information to all citizens, the Municipality of Miguel Pereira informs that today, unfortunately, a 63-year-old female patient passed away due to symptoms of the coronavirus."
The patient, who worked in the city of Rio de Janeiro, had been in direct contact with her employer, who had arrived from Italy and tested positive for COVID-19. She was admitted to the Luiz Gonzaga Municipal Hospital in serious condition, coming directly from her workplace to the health unit.
The official report on the case will be released within 24 hours, containing more information about the cause of death.
