Doria responds to Bolsonaro and tells him to go to São Paulo and see the people "agonizing in their hospital beds."

João Doria reacted to Jair Bolsonaro, who this morning blamed him and Bruno Covas for the 2.049 coronavirus deaths in São Paulo. Doria said in the early afternoon of this Wednesday: "Get out of your little world of hate" and "come visit the hospitals in São Paulo, see the people agonizing in their beds." Starting Monday, the use of masks will be mandatory on public transportation in the São Paulo capital.

247 - The governor of São Paulo reacted. to Jair Bolsonaro's attacks, who on Wednesday morning (29) blamed Bruno Covas for the 2.049 coronavirus deaths in São Paulo. "Get out of your bubble, your little world of hate," said Doria, in a press conference with Covas in the early afternoon. He added: "Get out of your Brasília bubble and come visit the hospitals in São Paulo, come see the little flu, the people agonizing in their beds and the concern of the health professionals."

Doria announced that starting next Monday (4) the use of masks will be mandatory on public transport in São Paulo. The measure is valid for passengers on the lines of the Companhia Paulista Metropolitana de Trens (CPTM), Metro, intercity buses, interstate buses and in the municipality of São Paulo. The use will also be mandatory in taxis and apps in the city of São Paulo. A decree from the City of São Paulo and another from the state government on the mandatory nature will be published in the Official Gazette this Thursday (30).

In the press conference, Doria revealed that the state has acquired 3 ventilators from China, which will arrive in São Paulo this Wednesday. 

The governor reported that the social isolation rate is at 48%: "That's not a good number." There are 1776 people hospitalized in ICUs, and the isolation rate needs to reach 60% to avoid the collapse of São Paulo's healthcare system.

Doria was forceful in his response to Bolsonaro, speaking directly to him: "Stop practicing this perversity, stop hindering those who are helping to save lives. After more than 5 deaths, are you going to continue saying that we are experiencing just a little flu?"

In addition to inviting Bolsonaro to São Paulo, Doria urged him to go to Amazonas: "Go to Manaus and see the collapse of the health system."
