After lunch with the national president of the PT (Workers' Party), Rui Falcão, and with the coordinator of President Dilma's campaign in Rio, Adilson Pires, the PR (Republican Party) candidate for governor of Rio de Janeiro, Anthony Garotinho, said that next week he will have a meeting with the PT candidate in the state; "We are waiting for a date to be set for a joint meeting next week," said Garotinho, who intends to take the president to one of the residential complexes he built in the Baixada Fluminense or West Zone of Rio when he was governor.
Rio 247 - After having lunch with the national president of the PT (Workers' Party), Rui Falcão, and with the coordinator of President Dilma Rousseff's campaign in Rio, Adilson Pires, the PR (Republican Party) candidate for governor of Rio de Janeiro, Anthony Garotinho, said that next week he will have a meeting with the PT candidate in the state, the third largest electoral college in the country.
"Giles (coordinator of President Dilma's agenda) called me and we are waiting for a date to be set for a joint meeting next week," said Garotinho, who intends to take the president to one of the residential complexes he built in the Baixada Fluminense or West Zone of Rio when he was governor.
According to Rui Falcão, despite the president receiving support from four candidates for governor of Rio, the campaigns of Dilma and Garotinho communicate well. "The two campaigns intertwine and complement each other. Dilma should return to Rio for a specific meeting with Garotinho. He doesn't want exclusivity, but rather reciprocity," he stated. Besides Garotinho, Dilma is supported by Governor Luiz Fernando Pezão (PMDB), Marcelo Crivella (PRB), and Lindberg Farias (PT).
Garotinho took the opportunity to attack Governor Luiz Fernando Pezão, the PMDB candidate for reelection. "Every criticism Pezão makes of the previous government is a criticism of himself, because he was Rosinha's Secretary of Government. He was nominated as vice-governor by me on Cabral's ticket. So, he should be very careful when talking about governments prior to his because he participated in them."
