Detran-RJ takes mobile service to 50 cities
New service starts in May, but you need to schedule an appointment by phone; check here for dates and participating cities.
Rio de Janeiro News Agency - The Detran-RJ (Rio de Janeiro State Traffic Department) will take its mobile service to 50 municipalities in the state in May, offering services such as annual vehicle inspections, duplicate Vehicle Registration and Licensing Certificates (CRLV), and vehicle modifications, among others. In the municipalities of Quatis, Mangaratiba, Pinheiral, Porto Real, Paraty, Guapimirim, Piraí, Duas Barras, Sumidouro, Areal, São José do Vale do Rio Preto, Tanguá, and Rio das Ostras, vehicle documents are issued on-site during the inspection.
With the inspection visits, the Department of Motor Vehicles (Detran) prevents its clients from having to travel to neighboring cities to register their vehicles. To schedule the service, drivers must have their IPVA (Vehicle Property Tax) paid and call 0800-0204040 or 0800-0204041, Monday to Friday, from 6 am to midnight, and on Saturdays, from 8 am to 18 pm.
