Investigations by the Federal Police into the construction companies Camargo Corrêa and Andrade Gutierraz point to Carlos Emanuel Miranda as the emissary in charge of collecting bribes for former governor Sérgio Cabral (PMDB); he allegedly acted as an intermediary in the transfer of funds from Andrade Gutierraz for the renovation works of the Maracanã stadium for the 2014 World Cup, the Arco Metropolitano highway, and the Comperj (Rio Petrochemical Complex).
247 - Informants from the construction company Andrade Gutierrez and investigations by the Federal Police in conjunction with the construction company Camargo Corrêa point to Carlos Emanuel Miranda as the emissary in charge of collecting bribes for former governor Sérgio Cabral (PMDB).
He allegedly acted as an intermediary in receiving bribes from Andrade Gutierrez for the renovation works of the Maracanã stadium for the 2014 World Cup, the Arco Metropolitano highway, and the Comperj (Rio Petrochemical Complex).
Having an affair with a cousin of the former governor, Miranda was a partner of Maurício, Cabral's brother, in LRG Consultoria e Participações Ltda, in 1999, and also founded SCF Comunicações with Cabral in 2003.
Cabral denies the accusations. He said that he maintained "only institutional relations" with Andrade Gutierrez, Odebrecht, and Camargo Corrêa.
