Rio 247 - After visiting former President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, federal deputy Wadih Damous (PT-RJ) reported that he expressed "deep indignation at the maneuver" by Supreme Court Justice Edson Fachin to reject an appeal by the defense, which aimed to allow the former president to await in freedom the judgment of an appeal against his 12-year and 1-month prison sentence imposed by the Regional Federal Court of the Fourth Region (TRF4, based in Porto Alegre, within the scope of Operation Lava Jato).

The conviction occurred in the triplex case in Guarujá (SP), in which, according to the Federal Public Prosecutor's Office, OAS would renovate the apartment for the former president. Lula's defense asked Minister Edson Fachin on Monday (25) that the request for freedom be judged in the session this Tuesday (26).
