Rio 247 - The body of young Matheus Macedo, 19, was buried this Friday afternoon (14) at the Jardim da Saudade Cemetery, in Sulacap, in the West Zone of Rio. The funeral of the young man, a victim of the explosion at the Filé Carioca restaurant on Thursday (13), was attended by around 200 people. The boy's maternal grandmother became ill during the wake. The victim's mother arrived at the cemetery in a wheelchair, too weak to walk.

The other two victims of the explosion, who were employees of the snack bar, will also be buried this Friday (14). The burial of the snack bar's chef, Severino Antônio, is scheduled for 14 pm at the Murundu Cemetery, in Realengo, also in the West Zone. The sushi chef Josimar will be buried at the Jacarepaguá Cemetery, in Pechinha, also in the West Zone. The ceremony is also scheduled for 14 pm.

Darci Macedo de Oliveira, the young man's great-aunt, said that Matheus had stopped at a newsstand near the restaurant when the explosion occurred. His father, Carlos Henrique Macedo de Andrade, was one of the most outraged by the tragedy. "Old Rio, everyone talks about Old Rio. But Old Rio is falling apart. All anyone talks about is the World Cup. Now here it is, another victim of the authorities' negligence," he declared to the news website G1.
