247 - The National Confederation of Commerce of Goods, Services and Tourism (CNC) confirmed this Thursday, the 14th, the two slates that will compete in the election for the presidency of the entity on September 25th. Slate 1 is led by Antonio Oliveira Santos, the current president, and Slate 2 by Orlando Diniz.

Diniz, who is president of Fecomércio-RJ and was removed from the presidency of Senac-RJ due to suspicions of irregularities in management, says he is the target of "political persecution" by the current leadership of CNC. The entity affirms that the September elections are being conducted with the "usual fairness," "transparency," and "the right to a full defense for the candidates."

The electoral process has been carried out with the usual fairness, respecting not only the statutory rules, but also guaranteeing candidates the necessary transparency and the right to a full defense, which ensures the democratic nature of the election," says the Confederation.

"Within the principle of trade union freedom, which takes into account the self-management of the system, and considering that electoral suffrage is the most democratic way to validate the structure of an organization, both slates are eligible to compete," the CNC further states.
