Ciep da Pavuna has the best performance among schools in the city.
A suburban school in the city achieved the best performance in the Rio 2011 exam; this Thursday afternoon, Mayor Eduardo Paes and Secretary of Education Claudia Costin will present the team with a certificate of excellence.
Rio Agency - Ciep Glauber Rocha, in Pavuna, north of Rio, which is celebrating its 25th anniversary, will receive this Thursday (12) from the municipality the Certificate of Excellence for the work carried out last year. Responsible for serving 514 students from kindergarten to 5th grade, the unit obtained the best performance in the Municipal Network in the Rio 2011 Test, in the 3rd grade, in Portuguese and Mathematics.
In 2010, the school also achieved first place in Mathematics and third place in Portuguese in the same grade. The Prova Rio assessment, applied to all students in the 3rd, 4th, 7th, and 8th grades, generates the IDE-Rio (Rio de Janeiro Education Development Index), which, together with the IDEB (Basic Education Development Index), measured by the Prova Brasil, forms the indices that serve as the basis for awarding prizes to municipal schools. Within the Results Agreement, teachers and staff of schools that achieve learning improvement goals receive the Annual Performance Award.
Mayor Eduardo Paes and the municipal secretary of Education, Claudia Costin, will visit the unit this Thursday (12) and during the meeting, director Ioliris Paes will receive a Certificate of Excellence for the school team from the mayor.
