247 - The city of São Paulo has surpassed the mark of 50 confirmed cases of coronavirus. According to a bulletin published by the city hall, at the end of the night on Tuesday (26), 51.852 people were diagnosed with the disease in the capital of São Paulo. Another 174.422 cases are being investigated in the municipality, pointed out the bulletin from the Municipal Health Department, under the administration of Bruno Covas (PSDB). The number of deaths caused by Covid-19 reached 3.421 in the capital and another 3.717 deaths are being investigated.
The city alone accounts for more confirmed cases of the disease than the combined total of six other South American countries: Colombia (23.003), Argentina (13.228), Bolivia (7.136), Venezuela (1.211), Paraguay (877), and Uruguay (789). The data comes from Johns Hopkins University in the United States.
According to the website created by the federal government for updates on Covid-19 cases, the state of São Paulo has 86.017 confirmed cases and 6.423 deaths caused by the coronavirus.
The Worldometers platform indicates that Brazil has 396,1 cases of the disease and remains in second place in the world ranking of confirmed cases, behind only the United States (1,7 million).
In terms of the number of deaths due to the consequences of the coronavirus, the country is in sixth position (24,746).
